Monitoring and analysis of key developments in critical minerals and gas markets

Tender description

Data on critical minerals markets is needed to provide BEIS with a clear and proficient understanding and interpretation of the key issues, drivers and impacts in minerals markets and potential implications for secondary markets including those associated with the energy transition. Data on gas is needed for the International Energy Unit's (IEU) regular monitoring of European gas and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) markets, and interpretation of the key issues, drivers, price fluctuations and impacts in gas markets. This information will enable the IEU analysis team to update colleagues across Whitehall on the implications of changes to mineral markets and gas markets to the energy transition, and to support discussions on price fluctuations, international trade and geopolitics, among others. The purpose of this market engagement exercise is to understand if the market can supply the identified datasets and analysis in the format required that will enable the IEU/BEIS regular monitoring and analysis of key developments in critical minerals and gas markets.
