Construction of dual carriageway link from Motherwell to Ravenscraig

The creation of a new 1.3km dual carriageway link between Motherwell and Ravenscraig including a 4-arm signalised roundabout-arm roundabout, a 3-arm roundabout, shared foot/cycle ways, new street lighting, sustainable urban drainage, amendments to adjoining side roads and hard and soft landscaping The procurement is for all works for the creation of a new 1.3km dual carriageway between Motherwell and Ravenscraig. These works comprise the new dual carriageway beginning at a new signalised roundabout at the junction of Airbles Road/Windmillhill Street, and heading northeast and crossing under the West Coast Main Line Railway (WCML) via a road-under-rail bridge and continuing on to connect to the existing roundabout on Robberhall Road, by the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility. The project incorporates new foot/cycleways, crossings for non-motorised users, a new roundabout within Ravenscraig providing for future local road access, new street lighting and signage, sustainable urban drainage and amendments to adjoining side roads. The works include: - Design from specimen (to be confirmed subject to outcome of PIN) - Groundworks and remediation - Construction of all infrastructure and associated hard and soft landscaping - Works to side roads including stopping up - Traffic management and control during works - Maintenance for period post completion Note. The WCML bridge crossing structure is being delivered under a separate contract with Network Rail. The division of works between lots and contracts, the pricing mechanism and the extent of employer engineer's design versus contractor's design are to be determined following responses to this PIN. Consideration is given to splitting in two Lots - Lot 1: Ground & Enabling Works and Lot 2: Main Construction
