Tender description
The Tenderer will be provided with at least 50 categories of marine litter based on UNEP/IOC Litter Categories (Annex III.1 - https://wedocs.unep.org/handle/20.500.11822/30009), and example images of litter categories will also be provided by Cefas. Cefas require the minimum scope to be based on annotating at least 50 litter categories, using pixelwise segmentation, of at least 5,000 high-resolution Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) images captured of beaches around the UK. Cefas require the Tenderer to also provide pricing and delivery timescales for: - 50 categories, pixelwise segmentation on 5,000, 10,000 and 20,000 images - 77 categories, pixelwise segmentation on 5,000, 10,000 and 20,000 images Given the non-uniform nature of marine litter, quality assurance will be critical to ensure the accuracy of the annotation. Therefore, Cefas require the Tenderer to submit to at least 3 rounds of quality assurance, allowing Cefas marine litter experts to review annotations to ensure accuracy. It is the preference of Cefas for the first iteration of annotation imagery to be completed prior to 20 December 2021. If the deliverable cannot be completed by this date, then the Tenderer should specify a custom amount of annotated imagery that can be completed prior to 20 December 2021.
