This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is inviting expressions of interest in the potential delivery of support to people who are in the City centre at night and distressed - perhaps due to alcohol intoxication or other underlying / associated issues. This is not a call to competition. Interested parties will be invited to take part in a Quick Quote process should the project go ahead. This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is inviting expressions of interest in the potential delivery of support to people who are in the City centre at night and distressed - perhaps due to alcohol intoxication or other underlying/associated issues. The overall aim is to reduce unnecessary footfall in Emergency Department over the winter. The service would potentially be delivered on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and would work as part of a wider team of other organisations working in the City overnight, eg Street Pastors, paramedic/first aid, police, pubs/clubs security etc. The support could be to filter out people who have genuine problems such as homelessness/domestic issues etc and link to appropriate service; support people who are stuck in city centre for a few hours until they can get home with tea/coffee/listening etc; There would also be the potential for some follow up support to be provided. Aberdeen City Council (Alcohol and Drugs Partnership) is exploring the possibility of running this service as a test of change over the winter period. Providers are requested to indicate their interest in being included in a Quick Quote should this proposal progress.
