6.1 Network Rail Technical Skills Training – Rail Skills Training Network Rail is currently delivering Rail Skills Training from training centres nationwide as well as from depots and DU’s, and external sites. In line with the recent regionalisation of the railways, Network Rail is also moving to a regional delivery model for Rail Skills training. The five regions of Network Rail are: • Eastern Region • Northwest & Central • Scotland’s Railway • Southern • Wales & Western The eight Lots to which training will be required for are: - • Lot 1 - First Aid & Manual Handling • Lot 2 - Lineside Management • Lot 3 - Rail Plant • Lot 4 – SMTH/Signalling • Lot 5 - Track Safety • Lot 6 - Transportable, Portable Mobile Plant (TPMP) • Lot 7 – Working at Height (WAH) • Lot 8 – Health, Safety & Sustainability Scopes of works for the individual Lots can be found in Appendices 2 - 9 6.3 Key Objectives Network Rail are looking to move away from the existing national “one size fits all” framework and move towards the creation of a Master Vendor model who will act as the Strategic Delivery Partner for NR Training. We see our network of supplier partners as an extension of the Network Rail Training organisation and the proposed framework will seek to build strong, effective, and mutually beneficial relationships with our supplier base. Each Lot will be awarded to a single Strategic Delivery Partner that has the capacity to deliver nationally against the volume demand as detailed within the scopes listed in appendices 2-9. 6.4 Our overall aims are to: • Work closely with the regional and national teams and the wider people function to build and deliver a full service, industry aligned, for all routes and regions within the organisation. • Create a network of supplier partners to deliver effective, high quality, value for money training interventions in response to growing customer demand. • To improve the capacity and reach of
