10761 Kitchen Pipework Replacement at HM Open Estate Castle Huntly

Tender description

The kitchen at HMP Open Estate Castle Huntly is served with heating, domestic hot and cold (tank & mains) water via an underground combined service duct which runs between the main boilerhouse and the kitchen plantroom. The service duct frequently floods causing degredation to pipework and insulation. This project involves the replacement of the heating & domestic hot & cold water pipework, valves and ancilliaries running within the service duct. New pipework will be installed in pre-insulated PE-X pipework. Works shall also include the replacement of the existing concrete duct covers with heavy goods vehicle rated steel covers to allow ease of access for maintenance. The Works require to be completed by the 8th October 2021. The SPS commenced this procurement process in good faith and with the intention of awarding a contract. Following publication of the Contract Notice, an Invitation to Tender (ITT) was published by SPS and was made available to bidders on Public Contract Scotland – Tender (PCS-T). Tender responses were then be evaluated by the SPS in accordance with the ITT.
