Timber Business Investment Scheme (TBIS) Evaluation

Tender description

The Welsh Government wishes to commission an evaluation of the Timber Business Investment Scheme (TBIS) (2014-2020). The evaluation should provide an independent assessment of scheme implementation and impact within Wales as part of the Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2014-2020. TBIS (2014-2020) is reaching the end of its programming period and it is necessary to undertake a final evaluation of the scheme. The findings and recommendations of this evaluation will help form the evidence base to inform future decisions relating to investments supporting the timber industry in Wales. The Timber Business Investment Scheme (TBIS) sits under Measure 8 of the RDP 2014-2020 - investments in forest area development and improvements of the viability of forests (articles 21-26). The vision for the RDP 2014-2020 Forestry Measure is that in the seven years of the programme, Welsh Woodlands will expand and be better managed and be more resilient to change.
