Tender description

This project will develop a method for producing a national inventory of nitrogen loads to groundwater and heatmaps showing the contribution of different sectors spatially. This will address a gap in our understanding of the quantity and distribution of nitrogen loads to groundwater from sectors including agriculture, waste, water and planning, including those which are not directly permitted or are exempt. 3 study catchments known to be experiencing pressure from high nitrogen loads will be used to verify national estimates and to model leaching losses in order to identify good and poor practice and the associated impacts on local receptors. The findings will inform our regulatory approach.
