Mon a Menai Evaluation

Tender description

A Brief to invite suitably qualified individuals or organisations to tender for the contract of completing an Evaluation of the Môn a Menai Project. Menter Môn has recently been successful in gaining approval for the Môn a Menai Project through the Welsh Government’s (ENRaW) fund. The Project, worth £530,000, gained final approval in August 2021 and eligible expenditure covers the period December 2020 to June 2023. The Môn a Menai Project is described in its ENRaW application as follows:- This Project (Môn a Menai) will make residential areas more attractive places to live, work and visit. It will also strengthen the networks linking them with green spaces and provide better access to the countryside. It will achieve this by providing employment for young people and training them in a range of countryside skills. It will also support volunteers to work alongside them to strengthen community cohesion. As a result communities will gain an understanding of their environment and a sense of ownership. The Môn a Menai Project will offer support to six community projects, with an open application process within 2021 accessible to community groups across Anglesey and part of Arfon in Gwynedd. Support will include help with project development, the delivery of environmental improvement works and development of volunteering activity and marketing activities. Alongside the activities listed above, the Môn a Menai Project will support up to 20 paid work placements for young unemployed people (aged 16-24) wanting to gain experience in the environmental sector. Wages (at the National Minimum Wage) and some training costs will be covered through the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) Kickstart scheme.
