<p>The Greater Manchester violence reduction unit (VRU) supports the effective rehabilitation and risk management of young people and adults involved in crime. Resettlement to the community after period in custody can be a difficult time for young adult offenders who will be still maturing and learning life skills. Recent research into &lsquo;constructive resettlement&rsquo; highlights the need to develop trusted relationships in order to shift a young person/adult identify from one of pro criminality to a pro social. Mentoring has been identified as a promising area of practice to develop this approach through national and local programmes of evaluation. We are seeking a provider to deliver mentoring to young people who have been sentenced to custodial sentences.
