Commissioning Policy Officer Rate of Pay: Band I ?24.80 to ?26.38 per hour (PAYE) Hours: 37 hours per week Location: Sandwell Council House, Oldbury, this may also include home working Start Date: ASAP for 2 months, in total Contract type: Agency Job Description and Personnel Specification are attached, which also provides more information above the role. Brief description: We are seeking to recruit to a Commissioning Policy Officer for a 3-month period to undertake a specific piece of work within Adult Social Care. The post holder is to lead a review of the Council Non-Residential Charging Policy within the Adult Social Care Directorate. Candidates will require a sound knowledge of regulatory requirements, relevant guidance and case law in this area and have experience of working at a senior level within a local authority setting. Specific Role Responsibilities: You will be required to:- o Undertake a review of the existing Non-Residential Charging policy taking into account all relevant legislation guidance, case law and good practice. o To redraft a policy and complete an equality impact assessment of options for presentation to senior managers for approval. o To write and present necessary reports and briefings to Senior Managers, members and other groups where required. o You will need to have effective communication skills both written and verbal including report writing o The ideal candidate will have background knowledge, consultant based worker. o Prepare and present paper to Cabinet for charging policy o Reviewing current practice and the existing policy/ core guidance, the Care Act and the Norfolk Judgement and bring into line. o Look at best practice and provide policy options.
