GP-lead Urgent treatment centre (UTC) service in St Mary's Hospital Lot 1: Urgent treatment centre (UTC), GP-led, open at least 12 hours a day, every day, offer appointments that can be booked through 111 or through a GP referral, and equipped to diagnose and deal with many of the most common ailments people attend A&E for. The UTC will also ease the pressure on hospitals, leaving other parts of the system free to treat the most serious cases. Additional information: An existing contract which has been in place for the last 5 years is being modified to effect a 6 month extension to allow the future model of care to be considered by commissioners. This contract modification is assessed to be proportionate and lawful under Regulation 72(1)(b) The existing 5 year contract value has been £26,585,895. The first extension has brought the full contract value to be £28,801,386. The additional 6 months will increase this by £1,747,243 to a new overall value of £30,548,629.
