PHE_Scientific_Provision for Luminex CE Marked OEM Consumables (Lot 1)

Tender description

Provision of purchase of Luminex consumables which are proprietary to the MAGPIX xPONENT System IVD which supports the Genomic Expansion Project based at various PHE sites across the PHE laboratory network. The required consumables and kits are critical for the SARS-CoV-2 sequencing protocols used by the Genomics Expansion Project. These assays offer the advantage of using a single tube assay, incorporating freeze-dried reagents with long shelf life, to detect 23 respiratory targets whereas competitor multiplex assays will require 4 to 5 multiplexed assays to cover the same range of respiratory targets. In the event of a newly emerging respiratory pathogen, the Luminex assay can quickly incorporate the new target into their repertoire of respiratory pathogens. This is a PHE wide contract, Bristol and Cambridge are currently the main sites for use. However, consumables may be ordered by various laboratories within the Public Health Laboratory network under this contract. The Term may be extended by two (2) further periods of up to 12 months
