Hire and Maintenance of Small Plant including Independent Hand Arm Vibration and Noise Testing

South Lanarkshire Council has an ongoing requirement for a suitably qualified contractor for the provision of the Hire and Maintenance of Small Plant including Independent Hand Arm Vibration and Noise Testing for use by Community and Enterprise Resources, Roads and Transportation Services. However the contract can be accessed by other Council services where required. All Plant supplied under this contract shall at all times comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 – Section 6, the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and the Supply of Machinery (Safety Regulations) 2008 (as amended). All Plant supplied under this Contract shall at all times comply with the common minimum British safety requirements and must be CE-Marked to show it complies with these requirements. The contract period is 3 years with the option to extend for a further period of up to 36 months. The Contract will be procured via the Open route with a proposed contract period of 3 years with the option to extend for up to 36 months years to achieve Best Value. All Plant supplied will be designed and constructed in such a way as to reduce o the lowest level, all risks resulting from vibration, noise and other sources. Vibration will be measured in accordance with British Standard EN ISO 4142:2014. The requirement includes fixed core hire, short term hire, , HAVS testing and maintenance of small plant. The service is required on an ongoing basis. The requirement comprises of the Hire and Maintenance of Core plant required by Contracting Services on a full time “contract hire” basis, with all included items being retained by the Council for the full contract duration with no break in the hire period. There is also a requirement to Short Term Hire items of small plant and purchase plant consumables.
