4. This project comprises a series of around six case studies of island community led initiatives during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and a report outlining the key learning points and recommendations for strengthening community resilience across Scotland’s islands. To learn from and build on successful community mobilisation in Scotland’s island communities, it is necessary to conduct research within island communities to identify examples of strong community resilience during the pandemic. We therefore wish to commission a research project which will deliver a series of case studies highlighting examples of island community resilience during the pandemic. The aims of the project are: to produce a series of case studies exploring examples of island community resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic; to identify key learning points from each case study in order to inform the delivery of the National Islands Plan; and to recommend how community resilience may be strengthened across Scotland’s islands.
