Care Leavers Employment Project (The Phoenix Employment Project)

Supporting 10-15 Waltham Forest Care Leavers into sustainable employment opportunities. The project will be open to all individuals classed as a care leaver and under the corporate responsibility of the LBWF. Individuals will need to be claiming an out of work benefits and aged between 16-24 years old. The project will provide customised support delivered for unemployed young people within the borough to give them the support necessary to apply and complete for new employment opportunities. The project's main objective is to provide customised help over 4 weeks, to equip unemployed young people within the borough, and in particular long term unemployed young people, with the skills necessary to apply for new employment opportunities on an equal basis with others. The aims at the end of the project will be to equip the cohort with life skill (budgeting, organising, timekeeping, health and wellbeing) barriers that will stop individuals from this group from moving in to employment or education.
