The City of Edinburgh Council requires to digitise and provide online access to a number of its record sets from the Council’s archive collections using a digital access concession model. The City of Edinburgh Council requires to digitise and provide online access to a number of its record sets from the Council’s archive collections using a digital access concession model, where online access is made available via a chargeable web based service hosted by an external service provider who can create, provide, and maintain an online mechanism for chargeable access to archival sources which are name rich in content. This will provide greater access for service users and to meet with rising expectations of finding such information online. The Council will receive routine royalties through this concession model.
