<p>The aim of the service is to ensure children and young people&rsquo;s wishes and feelings are listened to and their rights respected, enabling them to participate in the decisions that affect their lives and enabling those supporting them to create the conditions that will help them to flourish. In commissioning an independent advocacy service, we are seeking a provider who can work with us to deliver on our commitments and ensure that children and young people&rsquo;s views are listened to, heard, acted upon; and independently represented. Successful delivery will ensure the Government of Jersey is compliant with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), which the Government of Jersey has committed to incorporating into law through a model of due regard. Article 12 of the UNCRC makes very clear that every child has the right to say what they think in all matters affecting them, and to have their views taken seriously. Advocacy helps make these rights a reality for those children and young people who, for whatever reason, would not otherwise be able to share or express their views.
