Description of the Proposed Project; This Sustainable Eco Tourism Hub and Greenway Rest Stop Area shall be located on the Connemara Greenway at Moycullen Co Galway. It will provide the following Facilities. • Rest Stop Visitor Centre providing Toilets, Café and Visitor information centre. • Wheelchair and Disabled access to entire Eco Rest Area Hub. • An, FSC certified, wooden (Cross Laminated Timber), insulated and Burnt Larch wood clad pavilion style structure sitting on raised substructures. All roofs will have a breathable membrane roof covered by a grass and wild flower finish layer. • Sustainable Power Sources. Photovoltaic Solar Panels. • L.E.D lighting throughout entire hub area. ( Bat friendly Lighting if required) • Public Outdoor Seating and Picnic area with an Eco- Fire Pit and Public Artwork /Sculpture Display area. • Park and Cycle. 75 x space Car park for visitors and daily commuters from surrounding localities. • Solar Power Electric Car Recharging Ports in Car Park area. • Bicycle Hire: Secure Indoor Bicycle Parking Garage, Storage Lockers, and Bicycle Repairs. • Solar Power Electric Bicycle Recharging Ports • Wash and drying facilities for clothing and equipment. (Rain Water Harvesting) • Technological Innovation Centre / Small Tech Hub with Hot desks, Conference/ meeting rooms.
