Tender description
Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) was formally established by the Horse and Greyhound Racing Act 2001. Its mission is to develop and promote Ireland as a world centre of excellence for horse racing and breeding. Its primary functions include the development and promotion of the Irish horseracing industry, the development of authorised racecourses, the administration of prize-money at race fixtures and the control of the operation of authorised bookmakers. Background to requirement HRI have their websites and racing administration system hosted in a data centre for the past 5 years. HRI are issuing this tender for a contract to host these systems for a duration of up to 10 years. The technical details of these details are outlined in the attached Invitation to Tender document. Subsidiaries of HRI include Tote Ireland Ltd, HRI Racecourses Ltd, and Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Ltd. HRI Racecourses Ltd owns and operates Leopardstown, Fairyhouse, Navan and Tipperary Racecourses. Background to requirement HRI have their websites and racing administration system hosted in a data centre for the past 5 years. The systems hosted consist of the following: • shared infrastructure platform virtual servers; • co-located servers and network equipment. The services provider is responsible for providing the infrastructure to host these systems and to ensure the network and physical security of the systems. The HRI IT team will be responsible for the applications hosted on each server, and the maintenance of updates, etc. HRI are issuing this tender for a contract to host these systems for a duration of up to 10 years.
