Request for Information for THOR. The requirement is to secure the development, implementation and support of THOR, a capability to replace the current Meteorological and Oceanographic production and dissemination system. It will enable the continuous and uninterrupted provision of Meteorological and Oceanographic information by Joint Operations Meteorology and Oceanography Centre (JOMOC) to front line consumers in support of Defence Task 2 and to other partner organisations via a wide area network (WAN). This system is comprised of software and hosting environments to enable the secure storage, management, manipulation and distribution of data, products and services using COTS and specialist software applications and workflow management software across all security classification domains. The refreshed architecture will address obsolescence concerns, align with Defence’s Digital Transformation Strategy principles of cohesion, integration and speed and adaptability to deliver a solution that offers increased flexibility, scalability and interoperability.
