Respite & Short Break Services For Younger People With A Learning Disability

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The London Borough of Sutton (The Authority), recognises the need to further develop and bolster the provision of respite and short break services for younger people with a learning disability (aged 18-25).</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Authority is looking to engage and work with Suppliers to develop innovative, forward thinking solutions aimed to provide services which support individual outcomes and delay or reduce the need for higher levels of care and support.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We attach an initial service specification which details the Authority&rsquo;s requirements of services which we will look to commission via spot purchase or&nbsp; which we would approve for inclusion on an Approved Provider Panel which would be made available to families who access services of this nature using their own funds.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is a development to how we engage and commission with Suppliers currently and we are looking to conduct a Supplier Engagement Event where we will outline the Authority&rsquo;s thoughts on the future commissioning intentions for respite and short break services and seek input from yourselves. Engagement&nbsp; will help the authority to consider commissioning options that will improve the choice and availability for people living in Sutton.
