Provision of Civil and Structural consultant Services

Tender description

Caerphilly CBC has the requirement for suitable providers to submit fee proposals for the provision of structural and civil engineering design services in connection with Centre for Vulnerable Learners School, refurb and new build project, at Pontllanfraith Comprehensive School site. The form of build contract is JCT Design and Build with the tender design well defined to RIBA C/D level but this will vary between the refurb of the existing Grammar School building and the new build Sports Hall. The civil & structural engineer shall not be novated to the contractor. The scope of the project is fully described in this ITT but includes: •Advice and guidance •Structural condition survey of the existing building to be refurbished. •Outline foundation and frame design for the new sports hall. •Outline retaining wall designs around existing building. •Details of new openings, structural supports and walls within existing building with sufficient information to allow construction. •Drainage strategy for the site •Indicative drainage design for the site •Outline road and pavement design with indicative details •Performance specification for all elements which the Contractor will use as the basis of the detailed design with exception of SABs where a full design submission will be developed by the appointed consultant and Approval obtained prior to the D&B tender process •Review of contractor proposals •Monitoring site works for compliance Full details can be found in the ITT
