<p>A placement is sought for A who is a 21 year old male who has diagnoses of Autism, Severe Learning Disability, Complex Communication Disorder. A has lived in residential care since 2017. A is a vulnerable gentleman who demonstrates challenging behaviour which poses a risk to himself and others. A requires 2-1 staff support 24 hours per day to manage his behaviour and any consequential risks to himself or others. Behaviour is unpredictable and complex. This support is needed at all times to manage his safety both at home and out in the community. A does not have any awareness of danger. A&rsquo;s behaviours can escalate to a level where he requires physical intervention from staff. Staff should be trained in the Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA). Behaviours have caused significant injuries to staff including biting, kicking, pulling hair, punching, grabbing and spitting. A is a vulnerable man who is vulnerable to exploitation. He has no awareness of danger and no road safety or sense of strangers, therefore he requires at least 2:1 support in the community. We are looking to commission a self-contained, single-occupancy service. This needs to be within an existing service due to the urgency of the need, and to give staff additional resources to draw on if required.
