Tender description

The Oxfordshire County Council has a statutory duty under the Care Act (2014) to provide care and support for people at home, following an assessment of needs. Alongside our responsibility for people eligible for support, the Council has a broader strategic responsibility to the whole population, including ensuring that there are enough services that have been adequately assessed and are available for people who wish to and can afford to pay for such services privately. Helping people stay within their local communities where they feel safe and supported with personalised care that promotes choice and control in all aspects of daily living. Care and support must be ‘strength based’ focusing on supporting people to achieve their personal goals, allowing people to learn new ways of managing themselves with the support of equipment or technology to help them stay independent. High quality and responsive Reablement, Homecare and Extra Care Services are a vital component of the Oxfordshire Health and Wellbeing Strategy, with the ultimate aim of enabling people to live and age well. It has a key role in ensuring people are supported to live as independently as possible for as long as possible in their own homes. It can delay the need for residential care or hospital admission by providing the right support at the right time to keep people independent for longer. In order to support and maintain excellent health and well-being for all the residents of Oxfordshire, we aim to work collaboratively with our partners, providers and people who use services to evolve our services to meet changing demands. Co-production and partnership working will be key to delivering this strategic realignment of our new model. Keywords: domiciliary care, home care
