Tender description

NHS Supply Chain sought to establish a non-exclusive framework agreement for supply to NHS Supply Chain depots via the Stock/Blue Diamond routes and to the NHS Supply Chain customer base via the e-Direct Route. The framework agreement is for the supply of a large range of products to help influence ideal wound healing environments, prevent infection and skin breakage. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the framework agreement the value of purchases will be in the region of GBP 90 034 261 Exc VAT. The value is approximate only and is based on the most recent historical usage information, with a forecasted level of growth. This tender has threshold pricing, testing requirement and the use of auctions. Lot 1: Film Dressings Core Sizes This lot is for the supply of film dressings (without an island) in a core range of sizes only, for use as a primary dressing on wounds that are healing. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the framework agreement, the value of purchases for this lot will be circa GBP 2 669 170 Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa GBP 5 338 340 Exc VAT. Lot 2: Film Island Dressings Core Sizes This Lot is for the supply of film island dressings in a core range of sizes only, for use as a primary dressing on wounds that are healing, with primary intention or as a secondary fixation dressing. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £4,017,888 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £8,035,776 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 3: Film Dressings and Fixation Devices This Lot is for the supply of a range of film dressings and film island dressings outside the range of core sizes provided in Lots 1 and 2 together, peripheral IV film dressings, securement and fixation devices and associated products. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £18,074,164 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £36,148,328 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 4: Barrier Films Core Sizes This Lot is for the supply of barrier films (skin protectants) in Core Sizes only, designed to provide protection for human skin (including peri wound skin) from external irritants and also prevent moisture contact damage. For the avoidance of doubt this Lot does not include products intended for direct application to wound sites. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £3,783,138 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £7,566,276 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 5: Barrier Creams Core Sizes This Lot is for the supply of barrier creams (skin protectants) in Core Sizes only, designed to provide protection for human skin (including peri wound skin) from external irritants and also prevent moisture contact damage. For the avoidance of doubt this Lot does not include products intended for direct application to wound sites. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £2,147,376 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £4,294,752 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 6: Skin Protectants This Lot is for the supply of skin protectants outside of the range of core sizes specified in Lot 4 and Lot 5 and for additional Skin Protectant products designed to provide protection for human skin (including peri wound skin) from external irritants and also prevent moisture contact damage. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £2,390,286 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £4,780,572 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 7: Medical Adhesive Tapes This Lot is for the supply of medical adhesive tapes in a variety of widths and lengths, including: cloth, foam, paper, plastic impermeable, plastic perforated, silicone, silk and zinc oxide. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £5,837,274 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £11,674,548 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 8: Non-Woven Island Dressings This Lot is for the supply of non-woven island adhesive dressings with an absorbent pad for use as an initial dressing on wounds, with low or no exudate and to also provide a covering for surgical wounds and/or wounds healing by secondary intention. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £2,420,516 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £4,841,032 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 9: Backed Super Absorbent Dressing Core Sizes This Lot is for the supply of non adhesive backed super absorbent dressings in a range of core sizes only, intended for use as a primary dressing on heavily exudating wounds. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £4,553,486 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £9,106,972 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 10: Non-Backed Super Absorbent Dressing Core Sizes This Lot is for the supply of non adhesive non-backed super absorbent dressings in a range of core sizes only, intended for use as a primary dressing on heavily exudating wounds. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £3,332,214 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £6,664,428 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 11: Super Absorbent Dressings This Lot is for the supply of non adhesive super absorbent dressings, both backed and non backed, in sizes outside of the range of those stated within Lot 9 and Lot 10. In addition, this Lot also includes adhesive super absorbent dressings, backed and non backed. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £3,032,376 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £6,064,752 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 12: Dressing Pads This Lot is for the supply of dressing pads for as a minimum, low exudate management, in both sterile and non-sterile. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £1,298,726 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £2,597,452 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 13: Compression Bandages This Lot is for the supply of compression bandages, type 2 support bandages, type 3A support bandages, type 3B support bandages, type 3C support bandages, type 3D support bandages, short stretch bandages and cohesive bandages. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £10,332,774 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £20,665,548 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 14: General Use Bandages This Lot is for the supply of retention bandages, stockinettes & tubular bandages, suspensory & triangular bandages, zinc oxide impregnated medicated stockings and zinc paste bandages. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £15,662,134 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £31,324,267 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 15: Medical Swabs Core Basket This Lot is for the supply of a core basket of medical swabs, including non-woven swabs, gauze swabs and x-ray detectable swabs. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £6,892,465 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £13,784,930 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 16: Gauze Absorbents This Lot is for the supply of gauze absorbents, including: tissue gauze and cotton pads, napkin dental absorbent gauze, pack throat absorbent gauze, eye pad cover gauze, gauze rolls, gauze roll x-ray detectable, gauze absorbent ribbons, gauze absorbent ribbon x-ray detectable, nose drip x-ray detectable gauze swabs and x-ray detectable gauze pledgets. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £730,178 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £1,460,356 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 17: Ancillary Swabs This Lot is for the supply of all ancillary swabs not covered by any of the other lots, including: oral swabs, nasal swabs and tampons, medical prep swabs and non-woven balls. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £1,546,974 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £3,093,948 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 18: Cotton Wool This Lot is for the supply of cotton wool for medical use, including: cotton wool balls, dental rolls and cotton wool rolls. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £614,496 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £1,228,992 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 19: First Aid Kits This Lot is for the supply of first aid kits and first aid refill packs, including: workplace first aid kits, catering first aid kits and eyewash first aid kits. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £129,694 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £259,388 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 20: Plasters This Lot is for the supply of plasters used for minor cuts or abrasions. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £231,600 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £463,200 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 21: Ambulance and Emergency Products This Lot is for the supply of ambulance and emergency products for use in ambulances and/or in emergency response units. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £163,306 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £326,612 GBP Exc VAT. Lot 22: Oral Foaming Agent This Lot is for the supply of products for the prevention, treatment and management of oral mucositis. It also covers products for damaged tissues and mucosae caused by chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment. It is anticipated that in the first 24 months of the Framework Agreement, the value of purchases for this Lot will be circa £174,026 GBP Exc VAT and for the full 48-month term (if extended), the anticipated value will be circa £348,052 GBP Exc VAT.
