Expression of Interest - Middlesbrough Development Company Empty Homes Project

<p><em>Middlesbrough Development Company Ltd (MDC) is the Councils property and development trading company. MDC has been awarded funding from the Council to pursue a project aimed at reducing the number of poor quality and empty residential properties in the TS1 and TS3 postcode areas of Middlesbrough. We aim to do this by acquiring the units via lease or purchase, refurbishing them to a habitable standard and then letting at affordable rents to appropriate tenants. </em></p> <p><em>&nbsp;</em></p> <p><em>MDC</em><em>&rsquo;s input will be via a secured Loan that will be available to partners.</em></p> <p><em>&nbsp;</em></p> <p><em>We are seeking expressions of interest from suitable partners who have the financial and organisational means to jointly invest in properties in TS1 and TS3 areas (please note MDC is not able to consider options for properties outside of these postcodes).</em></p> <p><em>&nbsp;</em></p> <p><em>Interested partners should submit a written expression of interest in working with us to deliver this project which should illustrate how you meet the following criteria:</em></p> <p><em>&nbsp;</em></p> <ul> <li><em>Established socially responsible landlords already providing or intending to provide low cost rental accommodation. </em></li> <li><em>Evidence robust governance and management systems are in place.</em></li> <li><em>Have a secure funding line and a Business Plan to acquire properties at scale. </em></li> <li><em>Have a successful track record of carrying out similar activities </em><em>preferably in Teesside. </em></li> <li><em>Have established systems and organisational infrastructure in place to deliver the identification, acquisition, refurbishment, letting and tenant / property management functions.</em></li> <li><em>They should demonstrate any added value</em><em> or Social Value that you can deliver through this project, for example Carbon Reduction plans, use of sustainable materials, use of local labour or businesses, community / voluntary groups, offering apprenticeships, job creations, etc.</em></li> </ul> <p><em>&nbsp;</em></p> <p>Expressions of interest should be submitted via email to the following address <a href="mailto:tony.dodds@middlesbroughdevelopmentcompany.co.uk">tony.dodds@middlesbroughdevelopmentcompany.co.uk</a>.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>MDC will review all submissions and will then contact those partners if feels have met the criteria and have the infrastructure available in order to discuss Heads of Terms for any agreement which may be agreed.&nbsp;</p> Keywords: Housing, Development
