National Records of Scotland (NRS), on behalf of the Registrar General of Births, Deaths and Marriages for Scotland, is seeking tenders for the provision of a Conservation Led Design Team for the Comprehensive Overhaul of Roof and Associated Fabric of New Register House, inc Services and Rainwater Distribution Installation. It is now essential that this major project to review the entire roof (building fabric, M&E services and rainwater disposal system) is progressed with an appointment of a suitable, Conservation Architect led design team to fully investigate, design and produce a detailed specification for the urgent and comprehensive repairs required to NRH, enabling NRS Procurement Specialists to issue a separate, open tender seeking the appointment of a suitable contractor to undertake the fabric repairs. The team, led by the Conservation Architect, will fully investigate the existing situation and develop a proposal which will then be set out in detailed construction drawings and NBS specification to enable a competitive tender of the construction work. The supplier, supported by their design team will then act as contract administrator for the duration of the work on site and the post contract stages.
