Tender description
The Oughteragh Footpath Active travel scheme will allow safe movement from the town of Ballinamore to the graveyard. These works are a continuation of the existing footpath along the local road L-1340. The approximate length of the new footpath is 350m The existing conditions show a tree lined verge on both sides. This contract will involve the removal of all hedges along the RHS moving towards the graveyard. There are 3 property owners along this section and each require boundary conditions accommodation works which are described in the BOQ. A cattle grid will be constructed at the last farm entrance. Each dwelling will have a water meter to be raised within the works zone. The first property will require a post and timber rail fence at the rear of the new footpath. They have an entrance wall which will remain. The second property will require a block on flat plastered wall with intermittent piers. The existing drainage system will have to be piped at some locations. A separate “in footpath” 300 pipe will be used to carry the gully drainage system. Approx. 500mm of top material will have to be removed and replaced with suitable material such as stone or Cl803 to build up to underside of footpath Cl804 level. The kerb line for the proposed footpath will be constructed along the existing road edge. This can be chalked out prior to works by LCC.. This kerb will have dropped kerbs at entrances to dwellings and fields. Dropped kerbs shall be 50mm above existing road level which will allow for future road surfacing. Backing kerbs or treated timber will be required at the back of the footpath to allow proper blacktop construction and compaction. The footpath will be made up of 150mm CL804 with 50mm DBM surface. DBM Macadam shall also be used to repair the kerb edging with the existing road surface (this will be carried out by LCC) Public lighting will require a 50mm red duct to be constructed from the nearest public light and 300mm pots shall be constructed every 35m.
