Tender description

It is expected that over the next three years the death management system, which already experiences winter pressures from flu and other pressures, will be heightened due to Covid-19 as we learn to live with the variants and the knock-on effect from closing services down to stop the spread that was experienced in the first and second wave. ECC would like to put a contract in place that can be used at short notice to add additional storage to the system at times of Excess Death. The contract will be to add close to 100 new spaces (90 - 110 would be acceptable) to the system. Lot 1: The supplier will be expected to offer a transport operation to support the storage solution. Access to the site must be possible 24/7 although it is expected the site would be used mainly during normal business hours. Once cleared by the coroner, the supplier will be expected to arrange for collection of any deceased to the care of the family's appointed Funeral Director except for public funerals.
