Sligo Tidy Towns – Estate Mini-Plan training for Sligo’s Parks Quarter is a training programme for up to 15 Residents’ Organisations in the Parks Quarter . The Training programme will aim to work with each group, to train them to develop a coherent mini-plan for their Residential area, with actions which align to the overall Sligo Town Submission. Each mini plan will also feed into an overall plan for the quarter to be developed by the successful Trainer with the constituent groups, stakeholders and Sligo Tidy Towns on foot of the Training Programme and Community Consultation. Mini-Plans developed as part of the Training Programme will also arm Residents’ groups with a coherent and credible document to support any applications for Grant aid or other funding. The Project will engage with small communities order to raise awareness and build capacity about their locality in the areas of Engaging their Community, Streetscape and Shared spaces, Green Spaces and Landscaping, Nature and Biodiversity, Sustainability, Tidiness and Litter Control. The overall aim of the Sligo Tidy Towns – Estate Mini-Plan training for Sligo’s Parks Quarter Programme is to deliver a coordinated approach to Tidy Towns delivery in smaller areas and also to act as a Pilot Training scheme to be replicated by each of the other 3 Quarters in Sligo Town. It is envisaged that the emphasis for this Training Programme will be on embryonic, new or recently formed Residents’ groups who have not yet developed capacity to deliver fully on Tidy Towns initiatives and who have not successfully accessed, or attempted to access, funding towards their activities.
