Tender description

Northern Powergrid, part of Berkshire Hathaway Energy (BHE) is seeking to let a contract for the provision of a solution to remotely manage and provision sims onto any MNO network without the need to do any interventions at the remote site. The terminal equipment will be ruggedised and in most cases will be a fixed installation. Northern Powergrid uses a qualification system, the Utilities Vendor Database (UVDB) which is administered by Achilles Information Ltd, for supplier selection. Companies interested in bidding for this opportunity, must be registered with the UVDB under category codes relating to Telecommunications, communications or IT solutions, in order to be considered for this opportunity. Lot 1: Northern Powergrid wish to procure a sim solution that can be installed in any standard network device. Once communication has been established over the Air Interface over any MNO, it shall be possible to re-provision the SIM onto any other MNO without the need to visit site. The company anticipates that a contract could last up to 60 months with the option to extend for a further three x 12 months periods. Additional information: This will be dependent on whether "Solution Only" is provided or "Solution and Airtime" are provide together. It is anticipated that the costs for the supply of sims and provisioning platform will be in the order of £700,000.
