Tender description
Dublin City Council, through a newly established Telecoms Unit, is promoting a joined up approach within the organisation to support future connectivity and smart city investments. The purpose of which is to enhance economic competitiveness, deliver enhanced city services and improve the quality of life for Dublin. The purpose of this market consultation is to examine: (A) The extent of existing and short term requirements for telecommunications duct and civil works infrastructure from telecom network operators, infrastructure providers and large corporate companies. (B) How DCC’s current assets can best be deployed to support the additional demand for broadband services including the identification and localisation of DCC duct banks. (C) The economic models available or proposed to maximise the utilisation of DCC’s assets such as rental, IRUs, co-funding, source and share, outright purchase or indeed more innovative propositions. (D) How telecoms operators, infrastructure providers and corporates see DCC’s investments in civil works and opportunities to enhance the deployment of telecom services in the mid to long-term. Please note that this is not a call for competition and no tender documents are available. Also, the process will not be used to preclude any future competition conducted by DCC. This is purely an information exercise seeking the views of market operators. Please consult the appropriate documentation, which contains information regarding this PIN Notice and is available to download from www.etenders.gov.ie using RFT 198521
