Tender description

In line with the recommendation made in the BV inspection report the LGA has worked with the Centre for Scrutiny and governance to develop a proposal to review the Council’s constitution. The stage one review will be prioritising critical issues such as; conduct an initial high-level review of the constitution and related governance documents, alongside the Caller report, to identify critical issues which should be addressed now, and the sequencing of changes on other matters; make recommendations on those changes by the start of July 2021; establish a small oversight group and reference group of members and officers to act as a sounding board for the remainder of the process, subject to Commissioners’ proposed action. Stage two will be involving reviewing and supporting changes to the constitution in line with the wider improvement plan. The total cost is £17,625 but this will be part funded by the LGA and the cost to the Council be £8,812.
