Summary of the work You will be required to carry out an accessibility audit so highlight where the Competition Appeal tribunal website fails to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Latest start date Wednesday 1 September 2021 Why the Work is Being Done Central Digital and Data Office (part of the Cabinet Office) has been monitoring public sector websites to comply with new accessibility regulations. Our website (https://www.catribunal.org.uk) was found to be partially compliant and a further audit needs to be carried out. Problem to Be Solved Our Website needs to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard. Another company will carry out the changes recommended in the audit. Who Are the Users The website is used by both legal professionals and the general public. Both of these users need to be able to see upcoming events and when appropriate navigate to the Livestream of these events. Both Parties need to be able to search for and view documents using Keywords. The types of keywords used by each party will likely be different Work Already Done Work Is already being carried out on the website to comply with the issues already raised by the cabinet office. Existing Team The Supplier will be working with the Operations and It Departments of the Competition Service. They may also work with the external party who manage the back end of our website Current Phase Not applicable Skills & Experience • Using a range of testing methods (not solely automated testing) • Be able to test both with and without assistive technology • Be able to provide detailed explanations of any failures, including specific area of WCAG 2.1 and the level. • Be able to lay out potential solutions that could be implemented to rectify any failures or action best practice, in plain English Work Location The Competition Appeal Tribunal is based in London, But the work only concerns the accessibility of the website. We do not foresee any reason to be onsite. Working Arrangments We are happy for onsite and offsite visits between Monday and Friday. Are you open to continue with the same supplier to make the website changes, who conducts the Audit? We are open to continuing with the same supplier as long as costs do no exceed £10,000. 2. What is the start date you are hoping for this – as the current one is a date in the past? At the latest we will decide on an applicant a week after the tender has been closed for applicants (14th October). 3. How many page templates do you have and how many do you anticipate being audited? The number of different "Types of page" is Approximately 10 But we need at least 22 pages tested. 4. Please confirm the budget for this work. £3000-£5000 5. Please confirm the expected contract length/timeframe for this work. No contract length is specified. 6. Do we also need to test the documents available on the website for accessibility? A selection of template PDFs (approximately 5) will be provided for accessibility testing. If possible and depending on cost and time added we will would like all site PDFs tested for non compliance
