Supply of Oral Transmucosal Fentanyl Citrate OTFC

The Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) team, part of the Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) organisation within the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), intends to place a contract with Mawdsley-Brooks & Co Ltd for the supply of Single Oral Transmucosal Fentanyl Citrate (OTFC) lozenges for a period of 5 years (1 + 4 Option Years) with an estimated maximum value of £1.944M. This is necessary to ensure maintenance of the capability within an acceptable stockholding level. Lot 1: The Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) team, part of the Defence, Equipment and Support (DE&S) organisation within the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) — intends to place a contract with Mawdsley-Brooks & Co Ltd for the supply of Single Oral Transmucosal Fentanyl Citrate (OTFC) lozenges for a period of 5 years (1 + 4 Option Years) with an estimated maximum value of £1.944M. This is necessary to ensure maintenance of the capability within an acceptable stockholding level. It is considered that this contract can be awarded using the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice, pursuant to Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) of the UK Defence and Security Public Contract Regulations 2011 for technical reasons. Summary of the Technical Reason: Mawdsley-Brooks & Co Ltd are currently the only supplier (as directed by the Market Authorisation Holder) who can supply Oral Transmucosal Fentanyl Citrate (OTFC) lozenges in a single form.
