Tender description

NIE Networks are invited tender submissions across for sale of scrap metal across 4 lots: • Lot 1 - Sale of Scrap from Distribution Substations • Lot 2 - Sale of Scrap High Voltage Switchgear and Power Transformers (throughout Northern Ireland) • Lot 3 - Sale of Scrap Distribution Transformers and Miscellaneous Plant Workshop Silverwood • Lot 4 - Sale of Scrap Cables & Steelwork from NIE Networks Store Locations The contract duration shall be for 3 years with the option to extend for up to a further 2 years. Lot 1: Lot 1 - Sale of Scrap from Distribution Substations This will include Switchgear which will be required to be recovered from the following types of location: o 11kV brick built substations – Mainly in greater Belfast o 11kV Metal clad Maxi and Mini kiosks – Mainly in greater Belfast o 11kV Loughrin Fence Substations o 33/11/6.6kV Loughrin Fence ground mounted open bushing Substations o 33/11/6.6kV equipment recovered from the system at Primary open terminal substations operating up to 110kV o 33/11/6.6kV Switchboards Lot 2: Lot 2 - Sale of Scrap High Voltage Switchgear and Power Transformers (throughout Northern Ireland) This will include Tranmission/Primary Transformers, switchboards, circuit breakers up to 110kV and 275kV to include: o 2MVA Transformer o 3MVA Transformer o 5MVA Transformer o 12/24MVA Transformer o 45MVA Transformer Lot 3: Lot 3 - Sale of Scrap Distribution Transformers and Miscellaneous Plant Workshop Silverwood This will include disposal of various redundant plant, from pole mounted transformers, ground mounted transformers, RMU, circuit breakers, cabinets, package substations, oil drums and miscellaneous scrap metal from NIE Networks Plant Workshop (PWS) based in Silverwood. (Location address: Unit 2B Silverwood Business Park, Eastway, Lurgan, BT66 6LN) Lot 4: Lot 4 - Sale of Scrap Cables & Steelwork from NIE Networks Store Locations Lot 4 will include: o Cable skips from NIE Networks Ballymena Depot o Meters collected from NIE Networks Ballymena Depot o Batteries collected from various NIE Networks Depots o Skips left at NIE Networks store locations for collection of steelwork and conductor o Skips left at work sites for collection of steelwork and/or cables as required throughout Northern Ireland o Lockable skips left at NIE Networks contractor locations for cable collections The types of material to be uplifted shall include underground cables, overhead conductors, and galvanised steelwork. All skips relating to copper and Contractor cable skips must be lockable.
