Small scale automated DNA purification/extraction system

Tender description

A system that can provide the following is required: Automated purification of high quality DNA compatible with the systems and critical assays performed in the laboratory. It must be capable of extracting purified DNA from a variety of sources, specifically newborn dried blood spots. It should have a small benchtop ‘footprint’ with no external computer and should be easy to decontaminate. Rapid throughput (<1.5 hours) of small batches of samples (>10 <20) per run is required. Equally, the system must be capable of processing only one sample at a time, if necessary, with no increase in unit cost per sample. Pre-programed validated protocols for a range of sample types with minimum hands-on time and ‘walk-away’ automated purification is essential. Reagents in the form of pre-filled cartridges are vital to minimise contamination and maximise ease of use. An integrated barcode reader is necessary to track reagents and samples. An on-board system to ensure that the appropriate reagents & consumables are present and in-date (where applicable) prior to a run would be very beneficial. A system report to detail, document & record the parameters of the run that is compatible with/can connect with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is also desirable .
