The scope of this specification is to set the minimum requirement for the Chipping Spreader to enable it to perform the tasks required. The specification should be read in conjunction with any national regulations in force for vehicles using the public highway and with any EU Directive and Standards in force relevant to Chipping Spreaders and their equipment. It is imperative that parts are available for maintenance of the machine throughout the 10 year life The Chip Spreader shall be a model commonly sold in Ireland. The Chip Spreader must be a standard production model for which spares and mechanical servicing facilities are readily available. The Chip Spreader to have a stage 4 final emissions compliant diesel engine of approximately 129 Kw iThe Chip Spreader to be fitted with a hydrostatic infinite speed control transmission. The transmission shall have front and rear limited slip differentials which ensure constant four wheel drive under all conditions. Both front and rear axles to have a 24 tonne static load capacity.
