Tender description

This online event will outline the tender process for two lots; Lot 1 - Young Families Service and Lot 2 - Emergency and Homelessness Prevention which, subject to council approval, will be advertised on this portal, around 1 November 2021. The specification will be available at the event and there will be an opportunity for questions about the process during the session. Draft Agenda - 27th September 2021, 10:30-12:30: • Introduction • The review as a whole, brief presentation • The service being tendered • Draft Specification – (feedback will be invited closing date 12 October) • Procurement process • Questions Background: The ‘‘Roof over our Heads’ review of Supported Accommodation in Wolverhampton was carried out by the Children’s Commissioning Team and has sought to take a broader more collaborative look at Supported Housing for Our Young People in the City of Wolverhampton. For the purposes of the review, we defined ‘Supported Accommodation’ as an integrated package of housing, support and sometimes care services. The findings of the supported accommodation review made several clear recommendations. Commissioning propose a model of prevention and early intervention. The model will fit around ‘single-point-of-access’ which provides access to a mixed market of quality internal and external provision. Although in part, the catalyst for the review was undertaken due to an existing contract coming to a natural end, Commissioners used the review as an opportunity to look both externally (and internally), and to understand the existing systems, processes and interfaces that are a feature of supported accommodation at Wolverhampton. Findings around how provision is currently accessed call for: • creating a robust and responsive single point of access that is understood both internally and externally and is underpinned by processes that are aligned across all areas of the City Council and with stakeholders • aligning all contracts within a mixed market approach of sufficient internal and externally contracted services to meet the Supported Accommodation Needs for young people and young families to allow us to better meet the strategic priorities of the service. If you wish to attend the event which will be held via MSTeams, please email your details to: Jan Barlow - Commissioning Officer, Jan.Barlow@wolverhampton.gov.uk Tel. Office: 01902 551464, Tel. Mobile: 07773193589 A meeting invite will then be sent to you prior to the event. THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION – Any future opportunities will be published on the portal separately.
Keywords: Housing, Young Families, Prevention, Homeless, Young People
