Market Engagement for a Contract for the Design, Build, Management & Operation of a Household Waste Recycling Centre for the residents of Stockton on Tees & Middlesbrough Borough Councils

Tender description

The residents of Stockton on Tees and Middlesbrough Borough Councils currently have a household waste recycling centre located on Haverton Hill Road. The centre allows residents of the two boroughs to dispose of additional household waste which is not ordinarily collected by the respective councils. This includes items such as wood, hardcore & rubble, cardboard, glass, garden waste, scrap metal etc. A new centre needs to be capable of accepting between 25-30 thousand tonnes of material per annum. The current contract is due to expire on 9th August 2023 and the Councils are interested to hear from potential operators who would be able to build and operate a new recycling facility under a contract lasting for 20 years with an optional five-year extension period.
