Automated Tissue Embedder, Histology Department using the VEAT (Voluntary Ex-Ante Transparency) process

This is a VEAT notice to indicate that the HSE intends utilize EU public procurement directive Art 32.2(b)(iii) negotiated procedure without prior publication in the following case. (B) where works, supplies or services can be supplied only by a particular economic operator for any of the following reasons: (iii) competition is absent for technical reasons. The use of this article is for the provision of an automated tissue embedder device for the Histology Department in University Hospital Galway. It is intended to award the contract for the provision of this device to Sakura Finetek. The negotiated procedure arose from a PIN and market soundings exercise advertised in January 2021 whereby Sakura Finetek were the only economic operator to respond appropriately.
