Pembrokeshire County Council is preparing to tender for an Independent Professional Advocacy Service for the West Wales Region (Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion) and are holding a Briefing Session prior to advertising this tender opportunity. The Briefing Session will be via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday 7th September 2021 from 13:30 - 15:00. The event will provide an overview of the services we are seeking to procure & the procurement process with an opportunity to ask questions on matters relating to the tender. Please note that the estimated value is per annum. *Please note that this is not a formal PIN notice but a means to advertise our event* Lot 1: The provision of Independent Professional Advocacy (IPA) is a legislative requirement under Part 10 of the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act (SSWBA) 2014. This type of advocacy is provided in circumstances such as where a citizen’s access to care and support services is in question. Advocacy itself can be seen on a continuum and while IPA provision is specifically mandated, other types are to be encouraged, building on individual and community capacity. We are seeking a single IPA service for West Wales with the service model based on: -Management -Single point of contact -Direct IPA advocacy work – generic & specialist IPA provision -Workforce and sector development -Awareness raising and understanding
