Occupational Health Services for Cafcass against CCS RM6182 Lot 2

Cafcass are looking to re-procure a new contract for their Occupational Health Services provision which are due to commence on 1 January 2022.  <strong>            Current Situation</strong> Cafcass sickness absence rates to over the last 12 months to 30 April 2021 7.3 Average Working Days Lost (AWDL). The average absence trends over this period are split between long-term (i.e. longer than 28 days) 73% and short-term 27%.  Approximately 31.5% of absence is attributed to non-work related mental health and we know that there are a number of individual circumstances which can contribute to these absences. The occupational health service is in place for all Cafcass employees, circa 2100 people.  The service has been delivered on a pay as you go basis and the average cost of the service over the last 3 months is circa £3.300 plus VAT. The purpose of the future occupational health service is to enable Cafcass as follows: • To respond to the health and wellbeing needs of employees; • To continue to reduce total absence, average absence and the duration of absence; • To fulfil it’s obligations under the Health and Safety Act to comply with employer duty of care; • To proactively work with and advise managers on improving the health and wellbeing needs of their team members; • To work with and advise managers to assist them to proactively manage employees who are unwell and to provide professional, clear and unequivocal advice on solutions and appropriate reasonable adjustments; • To work with and advise managers to assist them to proactively manage employees who are in work with underlying health conditions and to provide professional, clear and unequivocal advice on solutions and appropriate reasonable adjustments; • To provide pre-employment health checks with clear and unequivocal advice on solutions and appropriate reasonable adjustments for all new starters; • To make recommendations about appropriate and reasonable adjustments to support employees prior to joining, in existing roles or redeployment; • National coverage of all the above, to ensure every member of staff from each of Cafcass’s offices across England can access the occupational health services provided; • As a minimum the Tenderer will provide monthly reports showing KPI data and service use by area.
