Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council (DLR) is inviting tenders from interested organisations for the provision of weed control within Deansgrange Cemetery. The Council proposes to enter into an initial contract for a period of two years and an option to extend by two additional one-year periods. The area to be treated comprises 65 acres. An Initial survey to show location and extent of mares tail or invasive alien species in the cemetery grounds is required. It is envisaged that the treatment of the majority of areas within the Cemetery shall comprise mechanical control (i.e. strimming) each year. The process will need to be repeated throughout each year to remove new plants that may have grown since the earlier treatment phase. The Contractor will be required to provide advice on the exact timing of treatment, in line with current best practice.
