Defra - Land-Based Monitoring, Reporting and Verification of Emissions and Greenhouse Gas Removals

Tender description

This research will provide an evidence synthesis and update on the existing monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) methods and techniques across the land use and agriculture sector to determine where there is no consensus and therefore signal evidence gaps to fill. It will also identify where technological/methodological developments may prove promising to ultimately inform Defra's next steps in discussion around voluntary and compliance carbon markets and schemes. The scope of the research covers the entire UK and the project is expected to last 4 months, from November 2021 to February 2022.
