The National Health Library and Knowledge Service 5-year strategy, Turning Knowledge into Action: Enabling Care, Improving Health (2018-2023), envisions a health service in which knowledge is valued as an asset, and the translation of knowledge into clinical practice is integral to evidence-informed decision-making throughout the organisation. As well as a network of physical library sites mainly based in acute hospitals, the National Health Library and Knowledge Service is comprised of 5 National Virtual Teams: 1. Evidence; 2. Information Skills; 3. Estates; 4.Digital Knowledge Services; and 5. Knowledge Brokering. The proposed knowledge services management system should support the operational delivery of services throughout the network of library sites and coordinate the work of the five National Virtual Teams. The availability of a KSMS for library staff and healthcare practitioners should assist in the translation of research evidence into clinical practice. The provision of a knowledge bank of previously answered clinical and other research questions will represent an important intellectual resource and will save time for library staff and frontline healthcare practitioners and health managers, and provide cost efficiencies, by: • Providing relevant validated information to healthcare workers faster at the point of need • Improving current awareness of scientific knowledge and innovation across all disciplines • Sharing and promoting best practice • Enhancing health care standards. • Promoting the use of evidence based practice in the HSE and other healthcare settings • Standardising the dissemination of knowledge • Establishing communities of practice and knowledge sharing Lot 223698: BSS1522C - RFT for the provision of a Knowledge Services Management System for the HSE National Health Library & Knowledge Service In summary, the Services/Goods required is the Provision, Implementation, Hosting, Maintenance and Support of a Knowledge Services Management System for the HSE National Health Library & Knowledge Service.
