Tender description
The local community have successfully applied for funding under the town and village scheme to construct a footpath from the village of Rooskey to Kilanaker Bridge over the Eslin River. The footpath will be constructed on the LHS heading westward towards Dromod Village. The existing roadway is an old national primary route (now a local road L-1601) and has sufficient width to provide this footpath without land take. Site clearance will consist of removing the existing hedge line to the field boundary. The proposed footpath will vary in width from 1.6m minimum to 2m width, depending on adjoining properties. The new kerb line will be offset from the existing hard should yellow dashed line on the opposite side of the carriageway (Eastbound towards Rooskey Village). This offset will vary from 6.2m on the straight sections to 6.4m at the bends, thus allowing the roadway to maintain a 6.2m to 6.4m carriageway width. Indicative yellow marking for kerb line are current at location There are 4 fence entrances which will remain and dropped kerbs will be provided at these locations. One of these gates will be offset 0.5m back from existing position. The excavated topsoil and unsuitable material will have to be disposed in an acceptable manner. It is envisaged that 400mm of suitable material (Cl803 or similar) will have to placed and compacted well to the underside of the Cl804 subbase to the footpath. 50mm of flexible blacktop surfacing will be the final footpath surface. Gullies will be position along the kerb and will be drained to the adjacent field drains. Larch timber post and 4 rail will be positioned at the back of the new footpath. Ducting and pots shall be provided and roped for public lighting columns (by others) The overall length of the footpath is 730m and is in both 50kph and 80kph speed limits. Once footpath works complete, the centre line and centreline “cateyes” will be removed and a new centre line will be established
