Development of hydrogen enabling standards, competence frameworks and training specifications

Tender description

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) intends to appoint a consortium led by Energy & Utility Skills (EUS) in collaboration with the Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM) to develop a suite of hydrogen gas enabling standards and associated competence frameworks and training specifications for use in domestic and non-domestic / light commercial hydrogen gas installations. Lot 1: BEIS requires the EUS-led consortium to develop a suite of hydrogen gas enabling standards and associated competence frameworks and training specifications for use in domestic and non-domestic / light commercial hydrogen gas installations. IGEM will provide the technical support to assess hydrogen research and evidence gaps to update the IGEM Hydrogen Reference Standard (IGEM/H/1), and create Hydrogen Enabling Standards for domestic (IGEM/H/2) and non-domestic (IGEM/H/3) scenarios. EUS will develop a Hydrogen Competence Framework and Training Specification aligned to the Enabling Standards developed by IGEM.
