Bridge Deck Waterproofing & Expansion Joints

Tender description

On behalf of the M3 Smart Motorway Alliance working with Highways England we (Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Ltd) require Waterproofing works to be carried out on a total of 12 bridges and the installation of Expansion Joints on 9 bridges between Junctions 9 and 14 of the M3 project. Providers will be required to have the capacity to deliver works in the Southern Region, Winchester to Southampton. Terms and Conditions specific to the works will be issued during the tender period for agreement in principle. To register your interest in these works your organisation must hold as a minimum: Constructionline Gold. Tenders will then be issued with a two week return period. Scoring will be carried out within 1 week of return date. The Subcontract Scope for Waterproofing works will be people, Equipment, Plant and Materials to (where appropriate) - Waterproofing to be applied in accordance with SHW Appendix 20/1. Spray applied waterproofing to be applied and lap as a minimum 150mm onto existing water proofing. - There are 12No. underbridges which will require water proofing. There is approx. 125m2 of spray applied water proofing per bridge. The Subcontract Scope may also include the sealing of gaps with 1200-gauge polythene sheeting. The Subcontract Scope for Bridge Joints works will be people, Equipment, Plant and Materials to (where appropriate) - Bridge deck joints to be installed as per SHW 2300 appendix 23/1. Bridge deck expansion joints shall satisfy the requirements of CD 357 'Bridge Expansion Joints'. - There are 9No. bridges requiring new transverse joints totalling 20No. joints. There is 1No. longitudinal joint replacement. 1. Please confirm that you hold a Constructionline Gold account or Common Assessment Standard, of "Verified" status. What are the most significant H&S challenges that you foresee on the Smart Motorways Alliance Projects and can you demonstrate how you as a company will mitigate against these challenges? 3. Provide details of your current and future secured workload (Dates, values, resource requirements) and confirm that you will have sufficient resource available to deliver to the scheme's requirements. 4. Please confirm if you have SMART Motorway Experience and detail which previous projects you have worked on if applicable. 5. Please provide ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 Certificates.
